These rugged hiking trousers are designed for mountaineering and are suitable for year-round outdoor activities. Norrøna uses two main materials for these trousers. One is a high-quality, woven nylon that is windproof and breathable. On the thighs, knees, and seat, Norrøna uses a flex1 softshell material. Norrøna uses this material because it offers freedom of movement, windproofness, high breathability, and effective moisture-wicking. The base fabric is a 200 g/m² recycled nylon twill weave—a medium-weight fabric that’s perfect for year-round use. Flex1 is a 250 g/m² 160D recycled double-weave fabric that protects exposed areas, is highly stretchy, and makes the trousers perfect for changing weather conditions. Both fabrics feature a PFC-free DWR finish for added weather protection and durability.

Key features include a customizable waist system, two side pockets, a hidden gaiter hook, a thigh pocket, and a hook-and-loop fastener at the bottom hem. The full zip runs from the waist down; the upper half, from the hip to the knee, is open and lined with mesh. The lower section is lined with fabric like a traditional gusset. This also allows for a wider fit from the knee down or a consistently wider fit with ventilation on the upper side. These trousers have a regular fit with pre-shaped knees to improve mobility during vertical movements. They can be worn over hiking shoes and lightweight ski touring boots.
