Bosch e-bike chargers at a glance
Start by identifying your Bosch system: Chargers for the smart system and eBike-System 2 use different charging plugs. Once you know your system, choose based on battery capacity, the time available for charging and your budget. A 2A charger saves space when you're traveling, 4A cuts charging time, while the 6A option delivers particularly fast charging for the eBike-System 2.
Bosch chargers for the smart system
Bosch offers two dedicated chargers for e-bikes with the smart system. Both charge batteries from this generation.
- 2A Charger: The lightest Bosch charger, designed for smaller batteries and travel. Its compact size makes it easy to carry when you need to recharge on the go.
- 4A Charger: The everyday charger for the smart system. E-bikes with assistance up to 45 km/h require the BPC3403 version.
Bosch chargers for the eBike-System 2
Bosch offers three chargers for e-bikes with the Bosch eBike-System 2, including Active Line through to Performance Line CX from the previous generation.
- Compact Charger (2A): Saves space in your luggage. A practical choice if you usually charge overnight and want to travel light.
- Standard Charger (4A): Charges a PowerPack 400 in around three and a half hours. A versatile place to start if you want flexibility.
- Fast Charger (6A): Delivers the highest charging current in our Bosch range. It saves time if you ride frequently or use two batteries with DualBattery.
Bosch e-bike charger technology
Bosch chargers and batteries work together as a system. The battery's Battery Management System continuously monitors the cells, while the smart system adjusts the charging current to each battery. Charging current is one of the main factors determining how quickly your battery recharges.
- Flexible charging: Charge the battery on the bike or, if it's removable, take it out and charge it separately.
- Temperature monitoring: Charging only takes place between 0 and 40 °C.
