The relationship between material and intention has shaped Italian craftsmanship for centuries. Just as stone gives Italy’s cities and roads their architecture and structure, the Record 13 platform, in keeping with this philosophy, defines a new generation of performance. Building on the technical foundation of the 13-speed drivetrain components introduced with the Super Record series, Campagnolo is expanding its portfolio to reach a wider range of athletes. However, the core aspects remain unchanged: fast and precise shifting, consistent braking control and seamless electronic integration. And all of this is tailored to the entire spectrum of modern cycling: road bike, all-road and gravel. Three disciplines. One vision.

Campagnolo Record X cassette

The “X” version of the Record cassettes features a gear spacing that is not only specifically tailored to single-chainring drivetrain systems but has also been refined to offer a more linear shifting profile, allowing the rider to maintain an optimal cadence under all conditions, from climbs to flat terrain. The smaller gaps between the sprockets also enable more efficient power management, which helps boost performance and reduce fatigue. Equipped this way, even the most demanding gravel routes can be tackled effortlessly.

The Record cassettes with 13 sprockets build on the experience Campagnolo has gained with the Ekar models and are designed for even smoother, faster, more precise, and quieter shifting. By optimizing the use of available space and using a correspondingly narrow chain, it was possible to add an extra gear without modifying the standard freehub body. This means that the Record X cassettes also rely on the N3W system, which is used on all current-generation Campagnolo road bike wheels. Neither an adapter nor a special hub is required.

Structurally, the Record X cassettes consist of 2 monoblocks: a small one with 3 sprockets and a large one with 5 sprockets for the 10-48-teeth version. Separate individual sprockets are positioned between them. The special design features a center section with the Black-Chrome finish, which was already used on the Super Record models. However, unlike those, the last sprocket block features a laser-etched texture on a black background, giving the Record X cassettes a distinctive identity not only technical but also aesthetically.
