With the U4030 components, Shimano is expanding the CUES family to offer riders another comfortable and at the same time low-maintenance option for use on road and gravel bikes.

The results of intensive research into different hand shapes are reflected in an optimized design that features a shorter reach and a correspondingly improved positioning of the brake lever blade. Typical of Shimano, this is complemented by reliable braking performance and smooth, intuitive shifting – ideal for extended road and gravel rides.

Dual Control Lever (DCL) | The Shimano DCL levers combine braking and shifting functions in one control unit for easy as well as comfortable operation. In raising the standard of performance, their innovative ergonomics are even more important to consider than adding additional gearing. However, the highlight of the STI shifters (Shimano Total Integration) shifters, is the ability to change gears front and rear with just one finger. The Dual Control levers owe this not only to an extremely precise and smooth operation, but also to the same stability for which Shimano's MTB technologies are already known.
