The Saltoro Pant is Mountain Equipment’s most popular, highly functional rain pants for mountaineering, climbing, and hiking. It is designed for year-round use and has been thoroughly tested. It provides reliable protection from the elements—whether you slip it on in the face of a storm or wear it all day in the heaviest rain. With their breathable 75D GORE-TEX ePE fabric, the Saltoro Trousers offer the perfect balance of durability, comfort, and weight. They withstand the harshest alpine conditions while remaining comfortable all day long. With them, you can relax and focus entirely on your hike, no matter how long you’re out and about. Pre-shaped knees ensure freedom of movement. The knees and seat are reinforced for use while climbing or mountaineering in challenging terrain. Thanks to the 3/4-length, two-way side zippers with internal flaps, the Saltoro can be easily put on even with mountaineering boots and crampons. During intense activity, they can be opened to allow heat and moisture to escape. When running through snow or wet grass, the adjustable leg cuffs ensure that no moisture penetrates from the bottom.
