KOKSIJDE TE - Handcrafted Tubular

The Koksijde was developed specifically for the dry sand on the unique course in the Belgian coastal town of the same name. It was created in collaboration with Toon and Thijs Aerts. Thijs and Thibau Nys both won the 2018 Belgian Championships just one week after receiving the first prototypes of these tires. This handcrafted TE (Team Edition) version combines a supple, sealed 320-TPI cotton core with a SmartSoft natural rubber tread and a latex inner tube featuring a 60-mm valve stem.

Note: Keep in mind that you may need to use Challenge Presta valve extenders if you want to mount tubular tires on rims with a low profile.

• Construction: Handcrafted | These handcrafted tires combine comfort, performance, and grip in a way that other tires cannot match. The tires are assembled step by step by experienced craftsmen. High-quality natural adhesives and latex coatings are applied to premium carcass materials such as silk, cotton, or polyester. The result is a tire produced in small batches that delivers a riding experience unlike any other.

• Casing: Corespun- Cotton 320 tpi | Corespun- Cotton with a thread count of 320–350 tpi is naturally softer and more supple than polyester, but it tends to absorb more water, which is why we seal our cotton sidewalls to increase durability.
• Rubber compound: SMARTsoft | A more pliable rubber compound tuned by cyclocross world champions for a smooth ride and maximum grip. SMARTsoft is also used in the specialized tires developed in collaboration with British Cycling for their track program.
