Mavic’s proprietary adaptive layup structure, which combines different fibers (T700, T1000, 3K), offers an ideal balance between stiffness, handling, and riding dynamics. The aerodynamically shaped, lightweight carbon spokes transmit every watt without loss and underscore the wheel’s sporty character.
Internal tests show that the 21/21 spoke configuration (14/7 on each side) offers the best balance of stiffness, aerodynamics, and weight for precise handling and perfect tension distribution, further enhancing riding precision. Carbon spokes absorb vibrations, thereby increasing comfort, stability, and control.

The Comete 85 was designed primarily for fast roads where aerodynamics are the key performance factor. It features an aerodynamically optimized 23 mm low-drag aero rim designed for 28 mm tires, helping you reach new speeds that you can maintain for as long as possible. 21 Aero carbon spokes further reduce drag and, thanks to lateral stiffness and vibration damping, deliver greater speed and improved control. This ensures perfect harmony with your bike, so you can always pedal with power. To achieve maximum speed, the Comete 85 features Mavic ceramic bearings. The reduced friction improves rolling efficiency, ensuring ultimate smoothness and speed, ride after ride.
