Mavic engineers conducted numerous iterations, comparisons, and validations- including wind tunnel tests in Geneva - to optimize every element of the profile. The result: a rear wheel that’s actually faster, responds to every acceleration, and remains stable even at high speeds.

The Comete Road Disc’s design is based on a 23 mm-wide Aero Wide rim, optimized for 28 mm-wide tires. It offers the best balance of aerodynamics and rolling efficiency, as confirmed by wind tunnel tests, Mavic Lab tests, and the endorsement of our professional athletes. The full-carbon rim flanges, with their gently curved shape, direct airflow while providing the necessary stiffness for occasional accelerations and precise cornering control. The Comete Road Disc runs on Mavic ceramic bearings. The reduced friction improves rolling efficiency and ensures maximum smoothness and speed all the way to the finish line.

Mavic’s special adaptive layup structure, which combines different fibers (T700, T1000, 3K), offers an ideal balance between stiffness and dynamic performance.
