Newmen has further refined its previous road bike hubs. The result is the Fade R models whose housing features the smallest possible diameter to achieve optimal aerodynamics. However, these lightweight hubs do not compromise on stability either. In particular, the rear wheel versions have been designed to withstand the increased loads placed on the freewheel by current-generation groupsets with their larger cassettes. What all Fade R hubs have in common is their silky-smooth operation and low rolling resistance. This is made possible by high-quality, double-sealed industrial bearings as well as a special lubricant.

Every bit of energy you put into the pedals is transferred to the road through the hub. Newmen has adapted the Fade freewheel system in its rear hubs to handle the resulting higher torques of modern drivetrains ensuring the most efficient and reliable power transfer possible. Instead of the usual two ratchets, three extra-wide and short pawl are used inside the freewheel mechanism, enabling a large-surface-area and a correspondingly gentle force transmission. At the same time, the newly designed tooth profile significantly reduces freewheel noises. The exterior design is inspired by the sleek look of the front hubs blending seamlessly into the overall appearance of the series.
