GRX Di2 – Gravel Goes Wireless
With components specifically designed for 1x12-speed drivetrains, the GRX series makes its debut in the world of fully wireless shifting. Gravel cycling is about adventure, not exclusivity. Whether you’re exploring new horizons, taking a ride off the beaten path, or just going for a simple weekend ride, everyone deserves reliable and high-performance gear. True to this belief and in keeping with the motto “United in Gravel,” Shimano has developed components that cater to every rider and every budget. With the GRX RX717 series, even more gravel athletes can now benefit from an electronic Di2 shifting system that combines lightning-fast suspension response with durability.
Furthermore, with the GRX, Shimano offers a component series that is precisely tailored to the demands of gravel riding. Ergonomic controls, robust technology, and appropriate gear ratios ensure control and reliability on gravel and uneven terrain.

Shimano GRX RD-RX717-SGS Rear Derailleur
Built Tough for Rugged Gravel Adventures. At the heart of the series is the fully wireless RD-RX717 rear derailleur, which seamlessly pairs with cassettes ranging from 10 to 51 teeth and offers a correspondingly wide range of gears. In addition, the electronic GRX rear derailleur impresses with its shifting speed, which—thanks to its sophisticated design—remains consistently reliable even on rough gravel trails. This includes the sleek yet sturdy Shadow ES design, which ensures excellent chain stability and thus provides greater safety. Chain retention is also aided by the automatic reset function (Automatic Impact Recovery), which returns the Di2 rear derailleur to its original position in the event of an impact. At the same time, the force of the impact is absorbed – —ideal for mastering any off-road adventure.
The wide joint design and the durable “Skid Plate ” made of aluminum are already familiar from other Shadow ES models, as is the well-protected and discreetly placed battery compartment, which is nonetheless easily accessible to allow for simple charging of the rechargeable battery (not included in the scope of delivery). The RD-RX717 rear derailleur uses the same rechargeable battery as its sister model, the RD-RX827, and the Shadow ES rear derailleurs from the XTR, Deore XT, and Deore series, making it easy to swap between different bikes. Like all electronic Di2 shifting systems, the RD-RX717 rear derailleur can be connected to Shimano’s user-friendly E-Tube app. Once paired, this app allows you to adjust various shifting settings and perform firmware updates.
Shadow ES | This design features a low profile, which reduces the forward-facing surface area of the rear derailleur. As a result, the rear derailleur has no protruding edges that could snag on rocks or roots.
Shimano GRX ST-RX715 Brems-/Schalthebel
Customizable Control at your Fingertips. A highlight of the RX710 series is the electronic shift/brake lever for hydraulic disc brakes. Designed for the right side of the handlebars, the Dual Control lever offers a cost-effective, wireless shifting option for 1x12-speed drivetrains. It combines the precise shifting performance for which Shimano is known with powerful yet predictable braking performance. From an ergonomic standpoint, the brake/shift lever can be optimally adjusted to personal preferences using the lever reach adjustment function. Once adjusted, it delivers an impressive battery life of up to 4 years. Like all electronic Di2 shifting systems, the ST-RX715 lever can be connected to Shimano’s user-friendly E-Tube app. After pairing, this app allows you to adjust various shifting settings and perform firmware updates.
GRX RX820 Crankset
The FC-RX820-1 is a lightweight and stiff 1x crankset designed for efficient power transfer and high ground clearance. With its optimally matched chainring options, it supports a wide gear range for steep climbs, fast sections, and varied terrain. The robust construction and precise chain line ensure reliable performance when paired with large 12-speed cassettes of different sizes, making the crankset a versatile foundation for modern gravel setups.
