Side Swing:

Side Swing technology delivers 100% better shifting performance. Designed specifically for modern trail bicycles, the Side Swing front derailleur offers 15 mm more clearance between the seat tube and the tires, while the completely new and optimized cable routing and control drastically reduce the operating forces required for shifting.

Note: Since Shimano front derailleurs with Side Swing technology have the cable take-up at the front, the shift cable must be routed inside or above the down tube.
