Better performance thanks to reduced pressure on the seat area—the SR Tri Men Front channels your power where it belongs—onto the road. Together with top triathletes such as Jan Frodeno (three-time Ironman Hawaii and Olympic champion) and Jan Stratmann (3rd place at the 2023 Ironman 70.3 World Championship), Ergon’s development team has created the revolutionary Power Position concept.
Some riders tend to shift their weight toward the front of the saddle in the aero position, requiring a specialized shape to prevent muscle fatigue and maximize performance. The ergonomically optimized V-shape design of the SR Tri Men Front is specifically engineered to meet the demands of triathlon. With its short and wide front section, the saddle offers you maximum legroom without putting pressure on the sensitive perineal area. The short saddle nose allows for micro-movements that ensure optimal pressure distribution over long distances and enables optimal pedaling ergonomics. This effectively prevents fatigue in the back muscles and also relieves the muscle chains you need for running. That means: more power on the bike and a better start to the run!
The SR Tri Men’s padding is made of durable Orthopedic Comfort Foam and is precisely engineered to meet the demands of long-duration triathlon exertion. It’s firm enough to prevent energy loss due to overly soft padding, while still providing sufficient cushioning to effectively reduce strain.
The V-shape of the SR Tri Men Front is specifically designed for triathletes who tilt their pelvis further forward in the aero position, thereby placing greater stress on the front of the saddle—a situation that requires specialized ergonomics for optimal relief.
The front position allows for a lower aero posture—the back lies flatter, and the load is primarily borne by the front of the saddle. This results in correspondingly higher pressure in the genital area, which is relieved by the distinctive V-shape with its short and wide front section.
On all SR Tri saddles, the Biomechanical Reference Line (BMR Line) is marked on the saddle surface. This indicates the saddle’s meridian—the point where the saddle is exactly 75 millimeters wide. The BMR line serves as a reference point for correctly adjusting height, seating position, and tilt, as well as for achieving the correct saddle-nose distance. The BMR line is also a key reference point for precise adjustments in our Fittingbox Road.
The SR Tri Men saddle is Made in Europe! This guarantees only the best workmanship and material quality. Shipping distances are short—and that’s good for you!
During long rides in the aero position, pressure on the sensitive perineal area remains very high for extended periods, reducing oxygen supply to the genital area. This can lead to numbness and, in the worst case, erectile dysfunction. The SR Tri Men is equipped with an especially wide and deep relief channel that guarantees effective pressure relief and thus reliably prevents discomfort.
