International health authorities recommend regular consumption of fatty fish—1 to 2 servings per week—to promote overall health. This recommendation corresponds to a daily intake of 250–500 mg of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) + docosahexaenoic acid (DHA). However, not everyone enjoys eating fish, and this is also true for athletes. Taking one 6d Omega-3 capsule per day can help prevent a deficiency in EPA and DHA if fish consumption is insufficient.

Despite the various metabolic, anti-inflammatory, immunoregulatory, vascular, and cognitive effects of fish oil on the body, scientists are not yet certain whether intense exercise requires a higher intake of fish oil. Nevertheless, high doses of EPA (e.g., 2 g/day) are recommended in certain situations, such as during the rehabilitation process following a muscle injury. The anti-inflammatory effect, as well as EPA’s stimulating effect on muscle protein synthesis, can promote recovery from muscle injuries. To meet the requirements of such high doses, an exceptionally highly concentrated fish oil was used in the development of 6d Omega-3. Four capsules of 6d Omega-3 are sufficient to provide a dose of 2 g of EPA. In addition, the fish oil used in 6d Omega-3 is highly pure and enriched with lemon oil to mask the “fishy” aftertaste often associated with fish oil supplements.

Finally, 6d Omega-3 contains just enough vitamin E to prevent the fish oil from oxidizing. It is important to avoid adding too much vitamin E due to the potential negative effects (of high intakes) of vitamin E on training adaptations.
