Details of the Specialized Status 170 2

Developed by riders, for riders

At the heart of every STATUS 2 is an exceptionally sturdy M5 aluminum frame paired with durable aluminum wheels. High-quality suspension components, powerful brakes, and proven drivetrains guarantee reliable performance even under the toughest conditions.

The result is a mountain bike that confidently absorbs hard impacts, climbs efficiently, and offers maximum control at all times. Rather than focusing on minimal weight, the STATUS 2 prioritizes stability, durability, and uncompromising riding enjoyment.

Perfectly Tuned Suspension

Before going into production, the STATUS 2 was extensively tuned by the Specialized Ride Dynamics team. The specially developed shock characteristics harmonize perfectly with the frame kinematics and ensure balanced handling with high traction, control, and stability.

Customizable Geometry

Thanks to integrated flip chips on the rear triangle, the STATUS 2’s geometry can be easily adjusted to suit your riding style and intended use. The bicycle comes standard in the high position. With just a few simple steps, the bottom bracket height can be lowered by 8 mm and the head angle set 0.5° flatter.

This allows the handling to be specifically tuned for technical trails, bike park riding, or fast, smooth descents. The STATUS 2 thus offers maximum adaptability for riders who want to tailor their bicycle precisely to their needs.
