The Wolf Tooth design features custom-engineered bearings, gaskets, bushings, and cup sizes that eliminate squeaking and balance best-in-class weather sealing with optimized radial compression, alignment, and preload of the bearings for low rolling resistance. The bearings in the Wolf Tooth bottom brackets feature a special design. The balls and raceway are made of hardened chrome steel. This steel has a higher surface hardness than stainless steel, which improves the durability of the bearing raceways and reduces rotational resistance and noise. The raceway has also been treated with an ACOSUR ZNA coating to ensure corrosion resistance that, following a 500-hour saltwater test, is equal to or better than that of stainless steel.
