The DT Swiss ARC 1100 sits at the top of DT Swiss’s aero wheel range. Developed with the experts at Swiss Side and extensively tested in the wind tunnel, the series focuses on maximum aerodynamics and predictable handling. Each wheel combines a clear aero focus with a different balance of weight and crosswind stability. The right setup for your road bike ultimately depends on the course, wind conditions and your riding style.

Why choose the DT Swiss ARC 1100?

If you’re setting up your road bike for more speed, the details make the difference. With the ARC 1100, those differences come down primarily to the rim, hub and tire setup.

  • Aero with control: AERO+ optimizes aerodynamic drag and steering moment for speed with predictable handling.
  • Four depths, four race profiles: 38, 55, 65 and 85 mm options cover everything from climbing and all-round racing to time trials.
  • High-end hub: The 180 DICUT combines Ratchet EXP with low-friction SINC Ceramic bearings.

DT Swiss ARC 1100 rim depths at a glance

The current 38, 55, 65 and 85 mm rim depths offer different balances of weight, handling and aerodynamics. As rim depth increases, the focus shifts increasingly toward aero performance. Rear wheels are available with Shimano Road (HG-L) or SRAM XDR freehubs.

  • DICUT 38: For hilly races and courses with plenty of climbing. Low weight and a smaller surface area for crosswinds take priority.
  • DICUT 55: The all-round race option for mixed profiles. Aero performance remains high without making the setup too specialized for flat terrain.
  • DICUT 65: For fast, predominantly flat races and sprints. The deeper profile shifts the focus more clearly toward aerodynamics at high speeds.
  • DICUT 85: For very fast, flat courses and time trials. Aerodynamic specialization takes priority over low weight.

DT Swiss ARC 1100 technologies

AERO+, the Wheel Tire System and the 180 DICUT hub show how DT Swiss develops the ARC 1100 as a complete system. The rim profile, tire setup, hub and freehub work together to optimize aerodynamic and rolling resistance as well as handling at high speeds.

AERO+ concept on the DT Swiss ARC 1100

AERO+ considers aerodynamic drag, steering moment and rolling resistance together. DT Swiss develops its rim profiles using CFD simulations and wind tunnel testing to combine low drag with predictable handling in crosswinds. At suitable yaw angles, the sailing effect can further reduce aerodynamic drag.

Wheel Tire System on the DT Swiss ARC 1100

With WTS, the wheel and tire are aerodynamically matched as a system. For the 55 and 65 mm wheels, DT Swiss combines a 29 mm AERO 111 tire at the front with a 30 mm Continental GP 5000 S TR at the rear. The 38 and 85 mm wheels use 26 mm front and 28 mm rear tires. This makes tire choice an integral part of the overall aerodynamic system.

180 DICUT hub with Ratchet EXP

The 180 DICUT hub is part of the ARC 1100’s high-end setup. With Ratchet EXP, one ratchet and the threaded ring are combined into a single component, reducing both the number of components and weight. SINC Ceramic bearings reduce friction, while the no-tool design simplifies disassembly and maintenance.
