To achieve this, the rear derailleur from the Deore XT series utilizes Shadow ES technology, which not only provides a wedge-shaped low-profile design but also improves chain tension thanks to a redesigned dual-spring construction, thereby ensuring smoother chain operation and an optimal chain guidance. The combination of wide, reinforced linkages and solid, well-covered derailleur pulleys minimizes the likelihood of dirt intrusion while simultaneously increasing durability.

In the SGS version with a long derailleur cage, this durable rear derailleur boasts an exceptionally wide gear range of 510 % – ideal for any application, from demanding enduro races to extensive all-day tours. Designed for HyperGlide+ drivetrain systems to ensure reliable and fast shifting.

Shadow ES | This construction is characterized by a low profile, which reduces the forward-facing surface of the rear derailleur. As a result, the rear derailleur features no protruding edges that could get caught on stones or roots.
