Also technically the mechanical 12-speed components match the performance of their electronic counterparts, making them a viable upgrade option for all MTB disciplines.

Ergonomic Excellence. Levered Up. The mechanical shifter of the Deore XT M8200 series features a revised lever design that not only ensures an ergonomic and natural feel but also enables lightning-fast gear changes thanks to an optimized release function. While a shorter lever travel and precise actuation with a firmer secondary click provide direct feedback, the optimized positioning of the shift paddles enhances control. The rubberized grip pad serves two functions: it not only prevents slipping but also, thanks to its ease of replacement, increases usability and thus the lifespan of the entire shift lever. The clean cable routing adds the finishing touch, ensuring a tidier cockpit.

The SL-M8200 shift lever was designed for HyperGlide+ drivetrain systems and, when used in combination with them, offers a Multi-Shift function that allows for the simultaneous shifting of up to 3 gears using the main lever blade.

Rapidfire Plus | With this shifting system, you shift to a larger pinion with your thumb and to a smaller pinion with your index finger.

2-Way Release | This function allows you to release the shift cable by either pushing with your thumb or pulling with your index finger. This means you don’t have to adapt your riding style to the rear derailleur—instead, the rear derailleur adapts to your riding style.

Instant Release | This feature replaces the two-step click and release process. Because the spring releases the shift cable immediately when the lever is actuated (and not only when released), faster shifting operations than ever before are possible.

Multi Release | This technology allows multiple gears to be shifted with just one lever operation. This works in both directions and noticeably speeds up gear changes.
