The Lumiko Zip-T is one of Mountain Equipment’s lighter fleece pieces. It’s breathable, dries quickly, and offers an excellent warmth-to-weight ratio. It also stands out for its light weight and compact pack size. In winter, this long-sleeve top works perfectly as a base layer, and in summer as a lightweight midlayer for mountaineering. The functional stretch fleece is made from 93% recycled materials; it’s soft and wicks away sweat exceptionally well. The waffle weave reduces weight, doesn’t add bulk, and doesn’t compromise on warmth. The flat-lock seams feel comfortable even when worn directly against the skin. Overall, the Lumiko is very comfortable—even when worn with a backpack and climbing harness or during strenuous activities. The narrow Active Fit and form-fitting sleeves don’t add bulk and make it easy to layer. Freedom of movement is guaranteed by the stretch fabric. To regulate temperature during strenuous pitches, the long front zipper can be opened wide. Small items like keys or snacks can be safely stowed in the closable chest pocket.
