The Continental Dubnital is the fast cross-country tire in Continental's MTB range and takes over from the Continental Race King. Built for dry to damp conditions, it performs on rocky hardpack and slightly loose terrain. The redesigned tread rolls fast on long gravel climbs, provides controlled braking through technical descents and holds its line when you put down the power. Choose from four combinations of two casings and two compounds, plus 27.5 and 29 inch sizes and black or skinwall sidewalls. Mix and match front and rear tires to suit your course.
What sets the Continental Dubnital apart
The Dubnital combines low rolling resistance with the grip and control needed when the terrain gets rough:
- Speed on hardpack: Siped center knobs roll fast and provide controlled braking.
- Cornering grip: Larger, siped shoulder knobs add edge grip on loose terrain.
- Dial in your setup: Choose from four combinations of casing and compound.
Continental Dubnital tires at a glance
Race and Trail casings give you two levels of protection, while Rapid and Grip compounds let you prioritize speed or traction. Available widths vary by tire.
Continental Dubnital with Race Casing
Race Rapid and Race Grip use the lightweight, single-ply Race Casing with reinforced sidewalls and crown. The supple construction absorbs uneven terrain without feeling sluggish. Race Rapid prioritizes speed and acceleration, while Race Grip balances traction with rolling resistance.
Continental Dubnital with Trail Casing
Trail Rapid and Trail Grip use the more robust Trail Casing with an adaptable fabric construction. It conforms closely to roots and edges, provides greater resistance to bottom-outs and adds protection for longer, rougher descents. Trail Grip pairs the tougher Trail Casing with the Grip compound for traction and balanced rolling resistance.
Continental Dubnital technologies
A redesigned tread works with two purpose-built rubber compounds, both based on Continental's BlackChili technology, to maintain speed on hard surfaces.
Continental Dubnital tread design
The tread is divided into three zones. Redesigned, siped center knobs combine traction with balanced rolling characteristics, while a reinforced transition to the shoulder maintains grip as you lean the bike into a turn.
Continental Dubnital Rapid and Grip compounds
The Rapid Compound draws on Continental's road, race and gravel tire development, with low rolling resistance and fast acceleration at its core. It keeps the focus on speed, including on climbs. The softer Grip Compound adds damping and traction for a more versatile setup.
BlackChili Compound in the Continental Dubnital
BlackChili is the rubber technology behind all compounds in the Dubnital range. Continental develops it in-house, tuning polymers, carbon blacks and additives to combine low rolling resistance, wet grip and wear resistance. Rapid and Grip each use a BlackChili formulation tailored to their intended use.
