The Schwalbe Magic Mary is a gravity tire for riders who put control on descents ahead of low rolling resistance. Its open tread takes on soft forest trails, bike park berms and rooty natural terrain. Angled shoulder knobs dig into soft ground, while the center knobs deliver braking traction. Schwalbe athletes race the Magic Mary in the Downhill and Enduro World Cups. The same approach pays off on your local trails when braking zones are wet and you still want to brake late. Following the latest update, the Magic Mary now spans two generations: the Evolution Line with Addix compounds and Super casings, plus the new generation with Trail and Gravity constructions. You’ll find both at BIKE24, along with the wider range from Schwalbe.
Why choose the Schwalbe Magic Mary?
Three things matter when you push a gravity tire to its limits.
- Grip across the trail: The open tread digs in on both soft and firm ground.https://www.bike24.de/marken/schwalbe
- The right casing: From the lighter Trail construction to Gravity Pro for the bike park.
- Ready to ship: Choose from a range of sizes, compounds and casings.
Schwalbe Magic Mary tires at a glance
Three factors determine which Magic Mary suits your riding: how hard you ride, how much rolling resistance you are willing to accept and how much you want to spend. The casing determines puncture protection and damping, while the compound determines grip. Depending on the model, you also get E-25 or E-50 approval.
Schwalbe Magic Mary Trail and Trail Pro
The Trail construction is the lighter option in the new generation. It climbs efficiently while staying predictable on descents. We stock it in 27.5x2.40 and 29x2.40. Trail Pro adds more puncture protection and covers sizes from 26x2.35 to 29x2.60, including radial constructions.
Schwalbe Magic Mary Gravity and Gravity Pro
When the terrain gets rougher, step up to the Gravity casing. Its more robust construction handles hard hits at enduro race pace. We carry it in 26x2.35, 27.5x2.40 and 29x2.40. Gravity Pro adds an extra casing layer and Apex reinforcement.
Schwalbe Magic Mary Evolution and Performance
The Evolution Line is the previous generation. Choose Addix Soft or Ultra Soft with one of four casings: Super Ground for lower rolling resistance, Super Trail as the all-rounder, and Super Gravity or Super Downhill for the bike park. In the current generation, the Trail construction offers the more affordable entry point.
Schwalbe Magic Mary technologies
Three key technologies shape the Magic Mary’s ride: a casing that adapts to the ground, compounds focused firmly on grip and a tread detail developed specifically for this tire.
Schwalbe radial casing
Conventional bicycle tire casings use threads that run diagonally at a 45-degree angle. With its radial casing, Schwalbe positions them at a much wider angle, closer to 90 degrees. This puts the material under less tension, allowing the tire to deform more locally rather than across a larger area. At the same tire pressure, the contact patch is around 30 percent larger.
Soft and Ultra Soft compounds
The current Magic Mary uses two gravity compounds: Soft and Ultra Soft. Soft combines high grip and damping with moderate rolling resistance and good durability. Ultra Soft delivers maximum grip and the highest level of damping, including in wet conditions. Older Evolution tires in our range are still available with Addix Soft and Addix Ultra Soft.
Magic Mary V-Grooves
Small V-shaped grooves sit in the Magic Mary’s tread blocks. Schwalbe developed these V-Grooves specifically for this tread pattern. They help the knobs interlock with the trail surface, giving you more bite on loose gravel.
